Festivals!

So Ive noticed a fair amount of people have been to festivals, so lets have a thread about them.

What festivals have you been to? Who was the best band youve seen at a festival? Whats been the funniestt things youve seen happening?

Ive been to Download twice (06 and 07), T in The Park twice (07 and 08), and Reading Festival in 06. Best band would have to be a tie between Metallica and Rage Against The Machine.

Leeds Festival 2008 was my first gig.

Best Band: Metallica.
Best Day: Friday, from midnight to midnight.
Funniest moment: Pissing myself laughing with RWAH when we put a padlock on my mate's tent and placed a gazebo on top of it.

Dead looking forward to Leeds 09.

Metallica and Black Tide blew me away

Wacken '08.

Best band was Iron Maiden, but Alestorm and Nightwish were a close joint second.

Essential Festival Bristol 2002
It was slated to fuck but actually I really enjoyed it! It was the first time I saw live bands and it was pretty small but that just made it better. It was quite amusing when we saw the stage in one of the tents had collapsed the previous day. It was pretty messed up but hey it was the dance tent so it's ok.

Reading Festival 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008
Some of the best weekends of my life!
*2002 got my through the break up of my parents and helped me get over my depression. I also went by myself which was quite an achivement for me.
*2004 met my fiance!
*2005 was the first time I actually went with someone else! Hung out with some awesome people! My festival experience completely changed because this time I actually had friends to watch the bands with!
*2007 wasn't the best weekend. Some moments were pretty awesome! The whole thing was pretty badly organised, too many people and too many nasty, thieving, out of control people and not enough shade. Some great bands and camp fire antics though!
*2008 only went for the day. It was a short and sweet burst of awesomeness. This year I didn't queue for the toilets! Every year I've been theres been really long queues! BIG RELIEF! LOLOLOLOL. Awesome bands, awesome friends, comfortable Travel Lodge at the end of the night. Best. lol

Only BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend 08. Because it was local. It was amazing, I went on the sunday, the Raconturs were amazing. The Zotons, The Wombats and Newton Faulker were also really good.
